Hey, thanks for the info that 3.1 final = 3.1 RC2. There’s always confusion about this, so it’s good to have it cleared up right off the bat.

no 64bit, no Ubuntu PPA, no .deb files, how lame!

The new Return Receipt handle is a good idea, but it nevers disappears even when I clic the “Ignore” button. It appears again when I go back to the message.

I have not been able to use Thunderbird since my last upgrade. It keeps asking for a master password and even requires a master password to un-check the master password box. I don’t recall ever setting up the master password. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and no luck – it will not run without some unknown master password. Can you fix this on the next upgrade.

I have the same problem on a Windows XP system in that it is asking for a master password and I cannot get around that. Thunderbird 3.1 upgrade.

In migrating from TB 2.0 the new version 3.1 keeps on asking a master password that I never set in version 2.0. Can you please remove this feature in the next upgrade?

I too am running into this master password problem, 3.1.4 running on MacOS. I never set a master password and had to do a google search to find out what one was.
Unfortunately, every remedy I have tried to reset the password doesnt work. I can successfully reset the master password from firefox, thunderbird doesn’t seem to care. I cant reset it in thunderbird because it expects the old one first.
This upgrade has made thunderbird close to unusable. If it isn’t fixed soon I will likely have migrated to another mail client, never to return.
