IMHO u got 322994 wrong, As i read it, it means that the installer removes the palm sync files of the previous installed release, due to the fact it is no extension and therefor cant be blocked due to lack of compatiblitly if the user keeps stuck with the old files while installing a new version (oh incomatibily bite me!)

jm.one: I’d take it as an improvement over the original vanilla 1.5, albeit a small one.
