Duh. All I needed was someone familiar with Windows and the Microsoft Outlook screen to show me how to slide the windows open sideways. I'm somewhat visually limited these days and didn't see the tiny little dot that indicates there's a hidden window. OOPS. Duh. I found several mentions of using Thunderbird, went through the "1.5" help pages, which appear to be for Windows (they don't describe OSX Thunderbird) and got fragmentary matches. Thunderbird actually did find my news server. But for the life of me I can't figure out how it's supposed to actually show me anything. The only window it shows is "Mail Inbox" -- is it supposed to do something for News yet? OSX, question –simple pointer welcomed, I”m baffled.
